Personally, I feel freedom of speech has its limits. It doesn’t give you the total freedom to say or discuss anything under the sun. There are sensitive issues like political matters or defamation matters. These sensitive issues can’t be brought up as a freedom of speech. Even racist comments are considering part of such sensitive issues.
More over in the internet world, almost everyone is accessible to it. To ensure lots of security measures are taken into consideration to protect your post from other viewers takes up a hassle, normally they just leave it available to the public.

I feel that freedom of speech in the internet is a good thing as it helps to express one’s thought in a creative way due to the lack of restriction in expressing it online, it also helps people like me and you to retrieve information posted by them that is useful for us either for educational purposes or general knowledge, it also helps one to release one’s emotions and feelings to feel at ease, it can also be a tool that helps one to create awareness to the public about incidents, like robbery, happening in the neighborhood.
The things I mentioned above are positive sides of freedom of speech on the internet. These things mentioned help one to think independently while posting their entries online as they are free to type what they think and feel without much restriction from anyone.
Although sometimes one can post harsh entries that can cause defamation, I still feel that freedom of speech in the internet is useful to educate and help the public.
As the saying goes, “give a poor man a fish and he will have food for a day, teach him how to fish and he will have food for a lifetime”. This in relation to what I am trying to say. If one is restricted from posting what he is able to post, he is unable to do an effective post but if he is not restricted to post, he is able to post anything he want that can help people who read it giving him freedoms of individual thought, judgment and action.

In this project, I learn a lot about freedom of speech in the cyber world. Freedom of speech as for now doesn’t mean that you are able to post anything you want on the internet. And whatever we type on the internet, we must be responsible of every word we type. For example, it may be our own blog, but that does not mean that we can post any unethical comment on the blog. If we really want to post anything online and is unethical, we should set it to private and not letting the whole world know what you are typing and cause unnecessary trouble.
This project let me understand the laws that were involve under the section of freedom of speech. The process of the whole project was a fruitful one too.
